The inclusion of a Teledyne’s sonar installed directly onto the barge provides operators with real-time visual updates via acoustic scans. This complete system leaves little to chance, as the operator can “see” the work area below the barge in real-time, resulting in:

  • higher production rates
  • reduced rework
  • improved operator safety
  • lower energy consumption
  • reduced downtime

Software-based systems rely solely on modeled assumptions, which can be inaccurate and provide a false sense of security. The addition of a Teledyne sonar provides operators with a new level of confidence that their projects are consistently completed to spec before progressing to the next work area avoiding costly redos.

M900 MK2 CONSTRUCTION SONAR

Teledyne Marine’s Dual-Frequency M900 Sonar acts as an acoustic camera able to stream video-like sonar imagery of the work area below the waterline. This imagery allows operators to “see” their underwater environment as-building, even in the most turbid or black water conditions.

SEABAT T20 CONSTRUCTION SONAR

The SeaBat T20 MotionScan is a tilted head 350° rotational configuration based on the renowned and compact SeaBat T20 high-resolution multibeam echo sounder. Installed on a dredge barge the SeaBat T20 MotionScan will, literally at the push of a button, map the work progress in seconds – saving contractors both time and money. As a part of the modular SeaBat T-series, the T20 MotionScan can also easily be reconfigured to more traditional survey tasks.
